1941
The standard service rifle of the German Wehrmacht during World War II.
The Karabiner 98 Kurz, often abbreviated as K98k or Kar98k, was adopted by the Wehrmacht in 1935 as their standard infantry rifle. This 1941 example was manufactured during the height of World War II. The K98k was based on the earlier Gewehr 98 design and incorporated improvements for shorter length and handier use. Known for exceptional accuracy and reliability, it served on every front of WWII from the deserts of North Africa to the frozen steppes of Russia. After the war, K98k rifles continued to see service with various militaries and remain highly sought after by collectors for their historical significance and craftsmanship.
